Old Telegraph Track
The first time we did the Old Telegraph Track was in 2017. We just bought a brand new FX4 Ford Ranger, stock standard. Then we hit the track guns blazing. It was only Chalky (my man at the time now my husband), Miss Woody and our 16 year old Maltese X, Miss Tia
We had no winch and everything else on the car was pretty stock standard except for the tyres we put Bridgestone Dueler AT’s on. We also had our home behind us, GT Sterling Ezytrail Camper. We got hung up a few times and nearly rolled the camper in one of the creeks but it was fun.
Let’s wind it forward 4 years. The Ranger we have done a lot to since then with a winch and full canopy, providing me with a great kitchen set up and on the other side a work shop and beer fridge to keep Chalky happy. We ditched the camper trailer and now have an off road caravan but we decided to tent it this time. With the 360 batwing awning on the car and a 30sec pop up tent we were comfy as with no hassles packing up. However our family has grown in that 4 years. Miss Tia passed away in 2018 and now we have a burly Staffy, Dude and a Mexican Chihuahua, Harley. Miss Woody the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo turned 30 along the track.
We went with some of the Fam this time and had a ball, lots of Shenanigans along the way. It certainly is a beautiful part of Australia and I highly recommend if you get the opportunity to stop procrastinating and just Do It!
