  • Montezuma Falls 4wd Track

What an interesting track. We really weren’t expecting to do this 4wd track, however when I told my husband it was a 10km return walk he opted to do the track. Three hours it took us to get to the falls with a few steep inclines and large rocks & water crossings. Once you get to the carpark its only a 200m walk to the falls, BUT you have to cross the swing bridge to get there so if you don’t like heights I would suggest to do the walk so you don’t have to do the bridge.

It was fun and the best part was we could take the dogs and Miss Woody, they had a ball and I was so proud of Dude crossing over the bridge.

  • Sandy Cape - West Coast

Great 4wding along the beach to Sandy Cape Lighthouse.

Permits are required for this track and can be obtained at the PWS in Arthur River.

We weren’t going to do it because of reports that the beach is very unpredictable and cars have been swallowed up in the quick sand.

The Coastal scenery is awesome with some hectic waves.

So what do we do? we head along the road to Temma for a look. We met up with some locals so we tagged along, so glad we did. There was bit of a deep river crossing. The sand along the beach was very soft and wavy, like riding a rollercoaster and on the way back one of our vehicles hit the quick sand, click on the link below for the video, epic.

  • Bridport to Bellingham

This is a great day out. It’s only a short track and pretty easy as long as it is low tide.

There is 1 creek crossing which is ok and on the Bellingham side of the track. Again, when the tides are low the creek is too so easy and not deep to cross.

The sand dunes are fun and I’d suggest packing a picnic lunch (especially if its a sunny day) and climb the dunes to have lunch a beer and a wine.

The only tricky part to this track is, where the actual track is as you go through the dunes. So keep a keen eye out for the red arrows.

So when you are on the North East Coast of Tassie have a crack at this track, its fun. Let your tyres down for the soft sand and your right to go. Check out our YouTube video, link below.Cheers
