East Coast
WOW!!!!!
Where do I start - Tasmania’s East Coast is stunning. There are lot’s of free stay camps spots right on the ocean but our favourite was Swimcart Beach, white sand, crystal clear water (but very cold) and is pet friendly. It is only 14km from the town of St Helens which has a weekly market and lot’s of shops and a really good laundry, car wash facility.
Park the van at Swimcart if you can get a spot, because it is popular especially in Summer or go a little North to Cosy Corner. Once set up you have a base to go and explore. 28 days is the max stay. We went for a Mountain bike ride from Anson Bay rd to Swimcart, 22 km it is a pretty intense ride but beautiful, see our Youtube for the video. Further North you can visit the Windfarm at Musselroe and the beautiful stone lighthouse at Eddystone Point. There is so much to see and do in this area.
If you want to find out more and see bit of what this area has to offer click on the link below to watch our YouTube video on the East Coast Tasmania. It would be awesome too if you Subscribed to our Channel so you don’t miss future adventures, it’s free.

North East
As we travel over to the North East of Tasmania it is coming into Winter. There is so much to see and do so we are doing 2 videos to try and show you some of this amazing country.
Part 1 we visit Launceston, Beaconsfield, Beauty Point, George Town, Low Head and South Croppies. Beaconsfield has the most amazing mine museum, very interactive. Beauty Point we visited the Seahorse and Platypus worlds, again very interactive for the whole family. George Town is full of Maritime history and Low Head has the coolest lighthouse, try and be there on a Sunday at 12noon and take some ear plugs for the kids - check out video to see what happens.
Part 2 we start to venture towards the Coast (which is a whole different video). We visit, Scottsdale, great Brewery, Branxholm, fantastic town full stop, Ringarooma, Legerwood, Little Blue Lake, Lilydale Falls, Goblin walk, Mt Paris Dam, Pub in the Paddock at Pyengana, Ben Lomond, Ralf Falls and Derby.
So you can see this part of Tasmania is packed with places and adventures. As you know we are travelling with Pets so there are places we couldn’t explore. This has kept us busy.
Hope you enjoy the next videos - If you haven’t already Subscribe and Like and leave comments on our YouTube so you can be kept up to date on the latest videos - its FREE. We will be venturing into the snow as Tassie is having an epic snow season and Chalky & the dogs haven’t seen it. So don’t miss that video

Wild West
Wow! Where do I begin?
There is so much to see and do over on the West of Tassie. The weather can get very wild over here so when you get good weather like we did when we first arrived we took advantage of it. Once we see and do everything I will put a video together so go to our Youtube channel and Subscribe so you don’t miss this episode and others.
We try to do as much free camping as pos and of course it has to be pet friendly. Granville Harbour is awesome, beautiful sunsets, beach 4wding, rugged 4wding (Climes track), fishing is sensational, feed of Cocky Salmon, sea lions and peacefulness. Macquarie Harbour just near Strahan, fishing, beach driving, walking and mountain bike tracks. Montezuma Falls & 4wd track, sensational with Tassies highest waterfall at 104m and the suspended swing bridge.
Just to name a couple so far. Keep watching for more adventures.

Spirit of Tasmania
We had pretty good sailing conditions when we travelled across to Tassie at end of Feb 2022. We did a day trip so we didn’t have to book a cabin. We stayed the night prior to boarding at the 5 ways caravan park about a 40min drive to the ship. It was the best. Pet friendly as well as super hot powerful showers, bliss!
On the boat there is a bar, food to purchase as well as lounge chairs, recliners (for hire), library, games room, information centre and small general store. The bar was my point of call and I took a liking to the Tassie Savvy.
We arrived in Devonport at about 8pm so we had pre booked a site at the Abel Tasman caravan park just near the terminal. Two nights spent there so we could do our grocery shopping and restock before heading off.
If you are travelling with pets click on to Pets Having Fun to see more information or go to our Youtube channel for a complete run down
Great trip across the ship was spotless and the staff very welcoming.

Lake Gairdner
What a beaut place to stay for our first week in Tassie. Head south from Devonport then head to Sheffield (interesting town with over 100 murals), check out the signs to Moina, turn left and head up the road you can miss Lake Gairdner road very easily so keep you eye peeled.
It is a free stay and if you get there earlier enough you can get a spot right on the waters edge and watch the Platypus play in the evenings. There is plenty of room for large RVs, it does get full so get there early. Only a short drive for day drives to Sheffield, Cradle Mountain and Mole Creek areas. Beautiful one of my favs so far.

The North West
Tassie maybe a small State and a lot of people think they can do it in a couple of weeks but that’s not the case. If you get the chance to visit, make the time to stay here longer, there is so much to see and do.
The North West has some awesome waterfalls, sensational rainforest walks and beautiful lakes. There is so much history from the 1800’s to present with the convicts and the different mines.
Check out the video below for a peek at the North West Coast.
